History
Crosby State Bank opened for business on April 15, 1913. The Chairman of the Board, Mr.
O. O. Bud Hare, Jr., is a third generation owner. Both of Mr. Hare's grandfathers were two of the original twenty founders of the bank. Currently, there are approximately twenty
eight other shareholders. The Bank was initially capitalized in 1913 with $20,000, an unbelievably small sum by todays standards.
Over the last 95 years Crosby State Bank has successfully weathered the Great Depression of the 1930s and the Texas depression of the 1980s. It has become the oldest and one of the most highly respected banks in East Harris County.
Crosby State Bank is committed to remaining a state chartered, independent community bank. Today, the Bank boasts over
$360 million in assets and $26 million in capital. A far cry from the $20,000 in capital with which it started. The Bank has grown from having one location in Crosby to
eight throughout East Harris County. Locations include two in Crosby, two in Baytown, one in the Memorial area of Houston,
one in the Sheldon area of Houston, one in Northshore, and one in Humble.
Crosby State Bank recognizes that its greatest and best asset is its customers. Since inception, it has been the Banks objective to provide the highest level of personalized customer service. Customers expect and deserve that service, and will always be first.
